Job Summary

• The project manager is charged to take a leadership role in the maintenance of Clinical Development standards and integrate good clinical practices and best organizational practices into the overall project development plan.

Essential Functions

• Identify the goals, objectives and requirements, and limitations of an assigned project.
• Coordinate the different needs and expectations of the various project stakeholders including team members, resource managers, senior management, customers, and sponsors.
• Plan, execute, and control the tasks, phases, and deliverables of the project based on the identified project goals and objectives.
• Close the project when completed and capture the knowledge accrued.

Specific Duties

• Act as the primary contact for their respective areas (sponsor, clinical sites, consultants and medical writers) and liaison between client and the investigational study site personnel to ensure the safety of subjects, accuracy of data, and operational success of the study and project.
• Develop and maintain site-specific study management and communication plans to increase the clinical site’s level of operational success.
• Communicate effectively with clinical site study staff as necessary and document pertinent communication.
• Identify and resolve study related issues.
• Track and monitor enrollment at the clinical sites.
• Provide strategic recommendations in the even enrollment is not meeting expectations.
• Instruct investigator site staff in their responsibilities and ensure compliance with GCP and ICH guidelines.
• Ensure appropriate, timely training of all study site personnel.
• Assist the investigational site in the management of timely query resolution.
• Manage time effectively in order to fulfill requirements to meet all timelines, in both project work and submission of administrative documents.
• Participate in project level budget planning, review and tracking of deliverables.
• Adhere to CNS SOPs and utilize approved forms.
• Timeline tracking and on-time completion of project milestones and internal development work.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field or R.N.
• Combination of college education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job in lieu of Bachelor’s degree in designated field of study may be considered with approval from CNS Senior Management.
• ACRP CCRC or SOCRA CCRP certifications are required.

Minimum Work Experience

• 2-5 years in the CRO (Clinical Research Organization) or Pharmaceutical industry or Client Service based company.
• 2-5 years in Project Management or Senior CRA/Lead CRA experience.

• Assists Site Director with training for clinical research coordinators and research assistants at site.
• Assists Site Director with the day-to-day operations of the site.
• Provides coverage for the Site Director.
• Assists the Site Director in the development and implementation of processes to create an efficient and effective work environment.
• Works under the direction of the Principal Investigator to assure subjects receive appropriate medical evaluation and care, alerting the Principal Investigator and Site Director of serious adverse events.
• Serves as the primary contact with sponsor for each assigned study, facilitates sponsor or CRO monitoring visits (including pre-site selection, site initiation, interim and close out visits) and completes  study queries and database clean up. 
• Where applicable, schedules appointments and enters visits, screen failure information and other necessary study related data into revenue recognition system (Study Manager) on a daily basis.  
• Attends sponsor Investigator meetings as needed for assigned clinical trials.
• Where applicable, assists in completing all necessary regulatory documentation and maintaining regulatory files for assigned trials. 
• Assists with advertising and recruitment of assigned clinical trials.
• Performs additional duties as required.

• Reviews all Regulatory Documents prior to Sponsor/Monitor site visits and completes and/or resolves regulatory queries.
• Prepares, updates and maintains all employee curriculum vitae.
• Participates as a member of, and in support of, the study and site teams.

The Company has the support of its secured lender to finance its ongoing obligations through cash collections and plans to continue normal operations throughout the reorganization process, which is anticipated to take six to nine months.  As part of the reorganization, the Company has hired investment banking firm Duff & Phelps Securities to evaluate strategic options.  Additionally, the Company will continue to reach out to strategic and financial investors for additional capital to fund its future growth.

Several challenges have been encountered in the attempt to apply RNA interference (RNAi) to the treatment of disease, including lack of effective delivery, off-target responses, and instability of reagents. The treatment of neuropsychiatric  disorders poses additional obstacles, given that drugs haveonly limited access to the central nervous system (CNS) and that the neurons are in a postmitotic state.
